Saw Dr. Brookenthal a pediatric orthopedic surgeon today who is suppose to be the best who said Stephen needs surgery to put two clamps or pins in his ankle to pull the growth plate and bones back together. Broke right through the growth plant into the joint. He wanted to do surgery tonight but Stephen's foot was too swollen. It's about two times it's regular size. He said if he did surgery right now, the skin is too soft and that when he sews him back up, the skin could disintegrate and cause infection. The doctor is leaving for vacation Thursday and back on Tues. He is referring us to his partner to do the surgery. Stephen will have surgery when the swelling goes down, probably Thursday or Friday. They want to get in there as soon as possible as not to disturb the healing that is taking place in the growth plate now.We cancelled our camp-out tomorrow night...
