I just cleaned out my car and I don't think I'll ever be the same...

Yesterday...

There was a smell in my car... somewhere....

What to do but find it.  As I was cleaning out  my car, I came across a horrific site.  The driver seat has giant pocket attached to the back of it.  Well apparently one of my children doesn't like turkey sausage links and shoved three down the pocket behind the seat which we had for breakfast about 1 month ago.  Apparently someone doesn't like granola bars or yogurt either.  There was much more food that was no longer discernible.  The added bonus was that someone had shoved their not yet emptied juice box down the pocket which dripped down and absorbed into the food and sponge foam lining the pocket.  We had an array of molds from black to white growing... in our car.  Of course I found this by reaching in and pulling out one of these black molded sausage links with my bare hands.

The only thing I could do was cut the pocket off complete and wash the back of the seat.  But wait... "Kevin would lose it if I cut of the back of the seat!"  He would try to salvage the unsalvageable.

What to do...???  Well... once it's off, it's off.  I got scissors and did the unthinkable!!!

OK.  That being said...  This morning I took Brennen to seminary.  Kevin usually does this but I decided to give him a real treat and let him sleep in.  "No no honey... I'll take Brennen... you sleep."  Well, I decided to take Kevin's car this morning.  What a treat it is to drive a clean neat car that you don't lug all your sweaty kids around from games to practices.

After dropping Brennen off, I pulled up in front of the house, and trying to fit between trash cans and the neighbor's car I hit the curb.  It made a loud noise and of course within seconds, sleepy Kevin was at the front door.  None to happy either might I add.

Upon assessment of the front tire and rim, it had a large quarter sized gouge out of the tire and the rim was scratched.  OUCH!  Very unhappy Kevin had some words with me as as he started walking up the driveway back to the house what should he find?   Yes... the cut off seat to the back of my car.  Dare I say any more.

Love you Kevin!!!

Really girls... don't be jealous of my life.

Blake trying to help out...!

Well... tonight I came home from dropping kids off at baseball practice and found Blake trying to help out with the laundry.  That would be ok if he knew how to do laundry...
Blake put the clothes from the dryer into the washer and filled the dryer with dirty clothes.  Then he dumped about 1/2 a bottle of "LIQUID" Tide into the dryer.  Got to love him.

Life's little mistakes make for great stories!  If everything was perfect..., we would not have our wonderful stories to tell.  I LOVE MY KIDS!

Remember the Home Town Buffet photos with the straws from last week...

Well... we ate lunch there today and guess what.  They are no longer having straws available at the beverage counter.  You now have to ask the waiter for a straw....  Complements of the Hortons.

Stephen shot Aunt Jani in the head with an air soft gun tonight at Grandpa's!

Tonight our two oldest boys brought their air soft guns to Grandma & Grandpa's.  (He has 1 1/2 acres)  Anyway... I made them keep the guns outside but Grandpa asked to see the guns.  The boys brought them in and one accidentally fired without even having the chamber in it.  It hit the floor, then the ceiling, then the top of Aunt Jani's head.  I felt so bad.  She's ok. Scary.  Could have been much worse.  Sorry Jani!!  Even though she laughed it off, I was mortified!

Blake is so funny... my 7 year old.

Blake came up to me with his electric toothbrush and said... "Mom, this toothbrush is teasing with bad teria."  Then he said, "I don't know what that means but I heard it on Sweet Life of Zach & Cody."
(teaming with bacteria)  chuckle!  Love you Blakie!

Words of wisdom for my boys from mom! FIND YOUR PASSIONS AND DO IT WELL!

It's a great feeling to be successful.
It's a terrible feeling to be a failure.
Prepare. Work hard!  Don't quit!
---
Success is an inner goal you achieve.
Make goals, work hard, focus, don't quit!
---
Failure is in life.  Learning and Success too.
It is the lessons learned that make us stronger, more capable, better experienced and more compassionate towards others.  Make your failures stepping stones to achieve your goals of success.  Experiencing failure should make you more hungry for success.
---
To find the proper balance in life is success.
---
Not everyone is good at everything.  Find one thing that you are good at and make it your passion.  Hire others that are good at their passions that you are weak at.  You can't do it all.  But everyone can do one thing...(or a few things) really well.
---
Find your passions, follow your dreams, live life, don't be a spectator of other peoples dreams.
---
Success is a journey with hills and valleys, calm and stormy days.  But when you reach the end of that journey you can look back and say...   Wow!  That was worth it!  I did it!
---
You can't make everyone happy...  But as long as the Lord is happy with you... you're doing ok!
---
Youth holds passion, dreams, goals and drive for success.  Age is when we look back and enjoy our successes.  (Family, work, home, friends, service, retirement, a good book, sleep).  The strength of your youth doesn't last forever.  Time is ticking...  what will you do with it?
