This past week, Brennen, Stephen and Kevin all went on a 5 day Varsity/Venturer Scout "High Adventure" trip. They river rafted on the American River, went "spelunking" in the Moaning Caves and "zip-lined" in Vallecito, fished and swam at Dinkey Lake, Shaver Lake, and Lake Millerton. They said the water was really cold. The weather was about 100 degrees out there so it was refreshing. Kevin and one other boy were ejected from the boat on a level 4 rapid! I found out they did a number of level 4 rapids and one level 5 rapid. WOW! My babies are growing up! Oh and later I will tell you about how Kevin got stuck in a cave over 250 feet under ground in a crawl space called the birthing canal!
They just came back on Friday night. Two days later, (this past Sunday) two other boys, Paul and Mark left for scout camp in San Diego! Kevin will go down to be with them Thursday and Friday! No more vacation time left this year!

Lake Millerton:
Dinkey Lakes - They backpacked to these lakes almost 2,000 feet and camped there! Only accessable by foot. Lakes are almost untouched! Beautiful!
